Eligibility


All courses and seminars offered through Our Safer Community have state-mandated eligibility requirements, as well as program-specific requirements. Prospective participants who do not or cannot meet these prerequisites are not eligible to take any of Our Safer Community’s programs. Eligibility requirement details…

Financial Aid


People who are qualified to take our courses but have serious financial limitations are encouraged to apply for financial aid through Our Safer Community. Depending on your situation, you may receive a partial or full subsidy of course tuition, subject to availability of funds. Financial Aid application information…

Application Process


The application process takes several steps:
  1. Select course
  2. Complete application
  3. Background check
  4. Pre-course meeting
  5. Course payment and reservation
  6. Train hard!

For the application process, the main things to remember are:
  • Fill out the application completely.
  • Read the instructions.
  • Check your application for accuracy.

After we conduct a background check to ensure that you are eligible to take our courses, we'll notify you of the dates of pre-course meetings to make payments, and help you with your concealed handgun license (CHL) paperwork if you need it.
