Board of Directors

Board Members

Board members serve annual terms. They cannot be compensated for board duties.

President: Brian Bascom

Brian is the executive director of Our Safer Community. He has over ten years of experience training people to plan for and handle deadly force encounters. He is an attorney and veteran Infantry officer in the U.S. Army.

Treasurer: Tawnia Wise

Tawnia, a nonprofit professional with MADD and active volunteer in Junior League and other nonprofit activities, provides her considerable experience to Our Safer Community.

Secretary: Kelly Jackson

Kelly brings extensive experience in the area of security to Our Safer Community. A former Marine officer, he is active in numerous community nonprofits and business organizations.

Community Coordinator: Russ Harris

Russ, a police officer and Texas Army National Guard combat arms officer currently serving in Iraq, provides a first-hand law enforcement perspective to Our Safer Community's programs and operations.
